BURNING TREE VILLAGE
Burning Tree Village is a nonprofit neighborhood organization that aims to enhance neighborly support among approximately 700 households near Burning Tree Elementary School in Bethesda, Maryland. While a chief goal of the organization is to help senior and disabled residents safely remain in their homes as long they wish, Burning Tree Village is also dedicated to promoting activities that benefit all residents of our community, across generations.
We do this through volunteer activities, educational and social programs, and partnerships with other individuals and organizations that complement our volunteer activities. By engaging all residents in these activities, Burning Tree Village helps foster a caring, supportive, and friendly atmosphere that enhances the quality of life in our entire community and helps make this a wonderful neighborhood in which to live.

Bad news! Fourth of July Parade & Gathering Cancelled Due to Extreme Heat
This just isn't our year for holiday gatherings. After having to cancel our Memorial Day walk because of thunderstorms, we've been forced to cancel our annual Independence Day festivities due to unsafe temperatures. We're confident the heat will break at some point and hope you'll put your neighborhood fun energy into participating in our (mostly) weekly Front Yard Friday gatherings this summer and fall (See below for more.)
Front Yard Friday Season Kicks Off June 5
Catch up with old friends in the neighborhood and get to know new ones at our popular weekly Front Yard Fridays. These informal gatherings are hosted by different neighbors each week, 5-7 pm, weather permitting, and hosts offer their front (or sometimes back) yard, a few lawn chairs, snacks, and beverages. Drop by for conversation and friendship, and feel free to bring bikes, toys, or games, or perhaps a portable chair. Additional snacks and drinks are also always welcome. Watch for emails from board@burningtreevillage.org for details on each week's location.
Burning Tree Village Offers Tech Coaching Program
We are recruiting volunteers to serve as tech coaches (training provided!) as well as late tech adopters who could benefit from some help with using their cell phones, home computers, and/or tablets. We're also currently in need of a volunteer to manage the program for BTV. Learn more about our tech coaching program.
Village Rides Resumes!
We have resumed offering free rides to our community members who are seniors or disabled. Face masks are no longer mandatory, but we will honor any driver or rider's request to wear them. Learn more about Village Rides.
